MEDICATION MANAGEMENT AND REFILLS POLICIES

 

Tangled Minds, PLLC (hereinafter noted as Tangled Minds) is available at:

a.   Refill requests should be made at least 3 – 5 business days in advance of medication running out.  Tangled Minds requests that follow-up appointments be scheduled to coincide with medication refill needs.  

 

b.   For your safety, medication refills will not be called in over the weekend or holidays except in emergencies.  

 

c.   While it is not the intent to have you have any lapse in medication(s), Tangled Minds will not refill medication(s) if you have failed to make regular follow-up appointments.  

 

d.  Prescriptions may only be called in for patients who are current patients and who maintain their regularly scheduled appointments.  

 

e.  We do not prescribe benzodiazepines to new patients.  If you are under the care of another provider we will work with them to taper the benzodiazepine. 

  

f.    We do not prescribe opioids.

 

g.   We do prescribe controlled substances.  If you are prescribed a controlled substance you are required to:

•  Keep regularly scheduled appointments.

•  Have at least (1) in person visit annually.

•  Provide us with a height, weight and blood pressure.  You may need to obtain a blood pressure monitoring device in order to provide timely measurements. 

•  Take the medication exactly as prescribed. 

•  Notify us if you receive a prescription for a controlled substance from another provider.

•  Keep the prescriptions in a safe and secure place, away from children. 

 

Please note that if the controlled substance is lost, stolen, misplaced or accidently  destroyed they will not be replaced.
